Welcome to Ondar.
This Privacy Policy explains how Waystar Communications LLC, doing business as Ondar (“Ondar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you access or use the Ondar mobile application, website, beta program, early access program, waitlist, subscriptions, credits, events, verification tools, safety features, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
Ondar is a gay social and dating platform built around intention: Meet now. Plan later. Connect better.
Because Ondar may involve dating, LGBTQ+ community participation, location-based discovery, private photos, messaging, verification, safety check-ins, and user-created plans or events, some information processed through Ondar may be sensitive. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.

1. Our Commitment to Privacy
Ondar is designed to help adults connect in a more intentional, safer, and higher-quality environment.
Our privacy commitments are:
- We design location features to reduce unnecessary exposure of exact location.
- We do not require you to publicly display your full legal name.
- We do not sell sensitive personal information for money.
- We do not make safety basics, such as blocking and reporting, paid-only features.
- We aim to minimize sensitive data collection where possible.
- We provide privacy controls for visibility, location, private photos, and account settings.
- We use personal information to operate, secure, improve, and personalize the Service.
- We may use moderation, verification, and safety systems to reduce scams, bots, impersonation, harassment, and unsafe behavior.
No online service can guarantee complete privacy or security, and you should be careful about what you choose to share with other users.
2. Eligibility and Age
Ondar is strictly for adults.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher, to use Ondar.

Your profile may be visible to other users depending on your settings, mode, visibility, and feature use.
Do not include information in your public profile that you want to keep private.
3.3 Sensitive Profile Information
Some profile information may be considered sensitive under certain privacy laws. This may include information related to:
- Sexual orientation
- Dating preferences
- Sexual preferences
- LGBTQ+ community participation
- Race or ethnicity, if voluntarily provided

Verification does not guarantee that a user is safe, compatible, truthful, or free from risk. It only means the user completed certain verification steps determined by Ondar.

Ondar is designed to reduce unnecessary exposure of exact location. We may use neighborhood-level location, approximate distance, location obfuscation, or activity zones instead of exact address-level information.
You can manage location permissions through your device settings and in-app settings, where available.
3.7 Messages and Communications
When you use messaging or chat features, we may process:
- Message content
- Photos, videos, emojis, reactions, or attachments
- Message metadata
- Delivery and read status, if enabled
- Group chat content
- Event chat content
- Reported messages
- Safety-related communications
Messages may be reviewed if reported, flagged by safety systems, required for legal compliance, or necessary to investigate abuse, fraud, harassment, underage concerns, threats, spam, or other violations.

When you use Now Mode, we may collect:

- Travel status
- Looking-for-host status
- Public-first preference
- Hotel or bar-nearby preference

- Group-open-now status

- Guest approval actions

3.9 Later Mode Information
When you use Later Mode, we may collect:

Safety Check-In is a support tool and does not replace emergency services.

Automated tools may be imperfect. We may use human review for certain moderation, verification, safety, appeals, or Club Mode decisions.

We do not share private messages or private photos with venue partners unless you direct us to do so or it is necessary for a specific service and disclosed to you.
7.5 Legal, Safety, and Enforcement
We may disclose information where we believe it is necessary to:

Ondar’s intended business model is to avoid cheap, invasive advertising. However, we may use analytics, attribution, or marketing technologies to measure campaigns, improve the Service, and communicate with users.

14. Consumer Health Data Notice
Certain states may regulate “consumer health data” broadly. Depending on how Ondar features are used, information related to sexual activity, sexual health, gender-affirming care, health status, safety, or related inferences may be considered consumer health data under certain laws.
Ondar does not intend to operate as a medical provider or health app. However, if Ondar collects or processes consumer health data subject to specific state laws, we will provide a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice where required.
15. Biometric and Verification Notice
If Ondar uses selfie verification, liveness detection, face matching, age estimation, government ID review, or similar technology, those features may involve biometric-related information under certain laws.
Where required, Ondar will provide additional notice and obtain consent before collecting or processing biometric information.
Verification materials may be used to:
- Confirm age
- Confirm account authenticity
- Prevent impersonation
- Support Club Mode review
- Prevent fraud and abuse
- Enforce safety standards
We do not use verification materials for unrelated purposes unless disclosed and permitted by law.
16. Children and Minors
Ondar is not for minors.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years old. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor, we may delete the information and terminate the account.

19. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Ondar’s intended model is to monetize through subscriptions, credits, verification, Club Mode, Host/Groups tools, and event-related services rather than cheap, invasive advertising.
We do not intend to sell personal information for money.
If we use advertising, analytics, pixels, SDKs, or marketing tools in a way that constitutes “selling” or “sharing” personal information under applicable law, we will provide a clear opt-out mechanism.

We use sensitive personal information primarily to provide the services you request, secure the platform, verify users, prevent fraud, moderate content, enable privacy and safety features, and comply with law.
21. Global Privacy Control and Opt-Out Signals
Where required by law, Ondar will honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for applicable opt-out rights.
Because opt-out preference signals may be browser-specific, device-specific, or account-specific, you may need to set your preference on each browser or device you use.
22. Do Not Track
Some browsers allow users to send “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is currently no uniform industry standard for responding to Do Not Track signals, Ondar does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.
Where required by law, Ondar will honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control.
23. California Privacy Rights
California residents may have additional privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
